Welcome to quite a different blog series from us at Truevo. Most often, we’re covering topics like WooCommerce plugins or hiring an accountant. Not today. You may have seen it online somewhere, but in case you haven’t, our whole company is involved in a donation initiative called Make a Difference. You can read more about what we’re up to here. This post is an amplification of just one of those stories collected from about 100 Truevo employees. Read on to find out more about why Roderick Muscat, one of our Business Analysts, decided to donate to both the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation and Id-Dar tal-Providenza.

I am genuinely moved by this generosity and have decided to double the donation amount and split it between the two foundations mentioned above. I’ll tell you a bit about why I’ve chosen each one and what kind of services and aid they provide.
This pandemic has turned the lives of many people upside down, some (or rather, many) have lost their jobs, leading to housing issues and not having enough money to make ends meet and provide adequate food for all the family, even here in Malta.
The foundation was started in 2015 by Reverend Kim Hurst, who began a food bank from the church she led. Since those days, the initiative has become more formalised, providing food for anywhere up to 100 families per week.
If I think of myself ever being in such a situation, I would certainly be grateful for something like the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation providing enough food for myself and my family, hence my decision to donate for this cause.
The second organisation I have chosen to donate to is Id-Dar tal-Providenza. It is a faith-based facility in Malta that exists to empower people with disabilities to lead fulfilling and dignified lives. It is primarily a residential centre, with people making home in the safety of a compassionate and professional environment. Started in 1965, Id-Dar tal-Providenza has decades of experience and dedication behind its name. They do amazing work and heavily rely on donations and benefactors, with daily running costs being in the region of €15 000. My small donation will be a tiny drop, but every drop counts!
How long have you worked at Truevo for?
I have just passed my first anniversary of working at Truevo, which has been an amazing journey so far. I am truly happy to be working as part of this awesome team.
Are you from Malta?
Yes, I am a “Malteser”, born and lived ever since on this rock.
Do you have any personal philosophies that shape the way you look at the world?
My philosophies are to always believe in yourself, don’t be afraid to try doing something, give it your all and if you fail, try again.
You are a very enthusiastic member of our team and always bring lightness and warmth to meetings. Are you naturally an optimistic and hopeful person, or is it something you have developed in yourself over the years?
I am a naturally optimistic person and this reflects both in my personal life and in my job. Being optimistic brings good vibes not only to myself but also to those around me, which results in a better output and delivery by all.
